Acupuncture therapy stimulates and regulates the sources of vital energy, and enhance the natural healing processes of the body. Some conditions block energy flow within the body, thus causing illness. As the body ages, energy flow becomes increasingly sluggish. Acupuncture in this situation, can be used to combat the effects on the body that come inevitably with age.
The insertion of fine stainless steel needles at specific acupuncture points, stimulates circulation and increases the energy flow all over the body. Acupuncture points, being areas of lower resistance, allow the flow of vital energy (Qi) throughout the body, to increase circulation, stimulate functions of cells, and encourage removal of toxic substances and self healing of the body.
Endorphin the "Feel Good" hormone and natural painkiller, some 200 times stronger than morphine, is produced when acupuncture is carried out.
Acupuncture has been proven to raise hormones, white blood cells, and antibodies. Therefore, it is the only therapy, which is capable of removing stress from the body and stimulating the immune system.
Aids to Acupuncture.
Moxabustion.
Moxabustion heat treatment, uses a compressed stick of the herb, Artemesia Vulgaris, (Mugwort), which when lit, produces a warm glow, and is used to heat the needles indirectly and so enhance their effects.
This gives a deep and warming effect to the muscles and the rest of the body. Patients often describe this experience as a "soothing and comforting feeling". Addition of heat in this deep reaching manner, increases the blood circulation, provides effective relief from muscular pain and weaknesses in the body.
Once again, chemicals such as Endorphins and Encephalins, (natural pain relievers and anti-inflammatory) are released, to give the notable effect of pain relief and speed up healing.
Advanced Electro-Acupuncture.
This provides constant stimulation of a certain frequency, which triggers a speedy release of natural painkillers. Fast acting or longer lasting painkillers can be stimulated depending on the frequency used. Needles are attached to clips, connected to a battery operated Electro - Acupuncture machine. Impulses are transmitted via the needles into the body, to augment the effects of the stimulation.
Manual Stimulation.
Fingers are used to rotate the needles, to augment the deeper effects by moving the energy (Qi) along the body channels. This is painless and very beneficial in the way that it increases or decreases the body's energy depending on the illness.
